What is my personal criteria for a breeder when looking for a puppy? I want full health disclosure; extensive health testing; service to the breed; good behavior towards fellow breeders privately and publicly, and standard conformation (and good temperament) as a breeding goal, not a brag right and honesty in advertising. I want a breeder that is not afraid to speak their mind, for the betterment of the breed, when their opinion is true, but unpopular. I want a breeder who thinks for themselves, preferably with an open and engaging mind, who encourages questions, learning, and growth from everyone they meet. "Yes" men and "Yes" women hold very little interest, nor do breeders who are so single sighted in their pursuits/beliefs they forget common sense.

Below you will find a list of breeders that I have dealt with on a personal level or have found to be, through their actions, exemplary stewards of the basenji breed. If I were in the market for a basenji puppy these are the breeders that I would be personally contacting, if I have not already; I feel very confident in referring them to you.
